Staff Vacancies

As many of you know two of our recently appointed, trained staff have left. We are very pleased to tell you that Nic has stepped up to be Manager.  We have recruited Amanda, who is undergoing training for the shop and post office, however are still actively seeking additional staff to join Nic and Amanda.  If you, or someone you know, might be interested in applying for one or more 5hr shifts then please email or speak to Celia or Gina. Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given.

Please be aware that as a result of the above we are having to close the Post Office when trained staff/volunteers are not available. We are trying to limit this to the afternoon sessions only with the help of Nic, Donna, Annette, Carol & Anna.

On the shop side it's business as usual thanks to our wonderful volunteers and the daily support of the Management Committee

We are pleased to introduce you to the new staff management team of the shop:

Simon Hunt - Shop Manager

He is passionate about the village, the need for a friendly and inclusive shop and is keen to bring his wealth of experience to our village community stores.

Nicola Williams - Assistant Shop Manager
Nicola, who also lives in the village, has worked at Allsorts (our village Preschool) and for a local Yoga business. Her children go to the local school. Post Office Local - Voting and Meeting, Village Hall, 2nd February 7pm

A secret ballot of Members on the proposal to accept the contract for a Post Office Local in the shop will take place at a meeting of Members on 2nd February 2016 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. The Village Stores Management Committee supports this proposal as a sound business and community venture, in the knowledge that after twelve months the contract will be reviewed and, if the contract is not a success, six months notice can be given without penalties being applied.

This meeting will be preceded by an Extraordinary Meeting of Members to examine the proposal at 7pm.

We hope whichever way the vote goes we can count on the support of staff, volunteers and customers to continue to grow our community shop for the benefit of all those who live in the village.

Celia Collett, Chairman
